I’m no subject matter expert on food storage, but I’ve got to believe that 2024 will go down as one of the most momentous years in the product category’s history.
On one hand, you have the death of the industry’s category-defining brand—Tupperware, which officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September.
On the other hand, Yeti, initially known for making elite coolers of all shapes and sizes, has now also entered the market.
Yeti’s Kept Its Food Storage Launch Low-Key

The new Food Storage line appears to be the finishing touch to a very ambitious year of product line expansion for the Austin, Texas-based company. It joins the brand’s first-ever French Press and flask, its first collection of cast-iron skillets, and its most affordable hard cooler yet.
To Yeti’s credit, the brand isn’t overplaying the importance of launching its take on Tupperware. The new food storage collection was revealed quietly by the brand’s standards.
For example, we didn’t receive any proactive outreach from the brand about the launch, and it doesn’t appear many other media outlets did either. Instead, the company opted to reveal the line via various social media feed posts late last week.
