New month, new Yeti colors. At this point, the brand releases so many seasonal hues that even diehard collectors within Yeti Nation have a hard time keeping up.

That said, it’s latest drop is well-worth a closer look … literally. It represents only the third time ever (and the first in over a year) that the brand has released its ultrapopular Rambler bottles and tumblers in a textured finish.

As opposed to the smooth DuraCoat found on most Yeti Rambler bottles, the sand-paper-like finish brings additional grip.

Rough and ready

To be clear, the special coating only extends to half the new drop, which includes both Black Forest green and Cherry Blossom pink.

However, the former features the typical smooth DuraCoat finish that applies to the vast majority of Yeti drinkware, which now accounts for over 60 percent of all Yeti sales, according to its most recent earnings report.

The only other colors to receive the special treatment were Black Stone and Grey Stone, both part of the Gritstone collection from over a year ago.

Black Stone and Grey Stone are the only other colorways to received the textured treatment. Both colors, now discontinued, sell for hundreds of dollars on the collector’s market.

If you can look past the pink, the textured finish does offer a unique performance benefit, especially for summer activities like fishing when things get hot, wet and slippery.

Regardless, Yeti’s decision to give Cherry Blossom has effectively turned it into a guaranteed collector’s item when it inevitably makes way for future colorways.

Black Stone and Grey Stone bottles routinely pop up on secondhand sites like eBay for hundreds of dollar a piece.
