A folding knife is only as reliable as its lock, full stop. Sure, the blade and handle are the show-stealers, but they’re not useful and may even be dangerous if the tool doesn’t stay open securely.
That’s what makes Vosteed’s Marten so impressive (and probably explains why it’s already selling out). It’s a gorgeous EDC offering made from respectable materials, and it comes equipped with one of the strongest locks ever designed.

An impressive, affordable package
As you can see, the Marten is, in a word, gorgeous. That’s largely owed to its stonewashed blade and machined handle. The brand’s foresight to apply the handle finish to the button lock really ties it all together and is one of the best details of all.
Of course, looks aren’t everything. Thankfully, the Marten’s materials are respectable, too. They hinge on 154CM steel for the blade (which is often compared to D2) and aluminum for the handle (which is as lightweight as it is durable).
All told, this 2.9-ounce, 6.8-inch EDC knife is a handsome, dependable pocket tool at a surprisingly affordable price point.
