The Swiss Army Knife is the multi-tool by which all other multi-tools are judged. However, even under the Victorinox umbrella, there are dozens upon dozens of different models, formats, layouts and so on — and that’s to say nothing of the myriad special editions.

Even armed with that knowledge, the Victorinox Special Companion Damast Limited Edition 2025 Swiss Army Knife is extraordinary — but probably not for the reasons you suspect.

Give a Dam(ascus)

Let’s start with the obvious eye-catcher: that knife blade. The 2.83-inch blade is crafted from Svavner pattern Damasteel, boasting a wavy pattern that almost looks like camouflage (as opposed to the wavy pattern of other Damascus).

It’s worth noting that, while this material is clearly quite beautiful, it’s not wholly unique, even to SAKs. Victorinox has employed Damascus steel in numerous multi-tools over the years. Still, there’s no denying its allure.

This SAK also sports a bevy of other stainless steel tools. Victorinox clocks the collection at 12 functions, including an awl, corkscrew, bottle opener, spring-loaded scissors and more.

As is the case with all Companion SAKs, that makes for an incredibly versatile, excellent all-around everyday carry multi-tool. Yet, even considering that Damasteel blade and its array of tools, it’s another element entirely that makes this knife special.

Counter point

So, if it isn’t the blade and tools that set this SAK apart, what remains? The scales!

This special-edition take on the Companion is affixed with scales made from a material called Corian. Traditionally, this material is used in interior design, often employed to craft countertops and other surfaces.

As countertops are typically considered high-traffic areas, this should tell you something about Corian: it’s highly durable. A combination of acrylic polymer and minerals, it can take quite the beating. But it has another benefit: it looks great.

That means double points in the “great for EDC gear” column.

While it can be made into a litany of colors, Victorinox has opted for a speckled white option, almost resembling natural vanilla ice cream (black flecks included). Because of the nature of the material and its production process, each individual SAK is unique from its siblings.

One last thing worth noting: this is a special edition release. Only 7,000 sequentially numbered units were made. That means this SAK is going to inevitably be a pretty hot commodity, especially for collectors.

Pricing and availability

Unfortunately, it looks like the Victorinox Special Companion Damast Limited Edition 2025 Swiss Army Knife — which is priced at $280 — is already sold out online.

That said, you can still check brick-and-mortar Victornox stores for remaining stock (as mentioned, 7,000 units were made worldwide, so it may not yet be sold out everywhere). Furthermore, it may be available through other online retailers and third-party sellers.
