Topo Designs makes some of the best EDC bags around. The brand has managed that, in part, by incorporating outdoor-inspired styling and bold colorways into its everyday backpacks, crossbody bags, luggage and more.

However, the brand’s latest collection, a limited-edition drop of three iconic bags, stands out for its ability to blend in. While still bearing the same adventurous hallmarks, the Topo Designs Forest Floor Camo EDC bags are unusual for the brand, in a good way.

Blend in to stand out

Many of Topo Designs’ most successful drops hinge, in part, on their styling. Typically, the brand’s bags rely visually on vibrant colors, often color-blocked to help them stand out.

But this collection takes a very different route. The three bags are all done in a camouflage pattern inspired by the forest’s underbrush, giving them a distinctly outdoorsy and more naturalistic appearance that’s a bit of a departure for Topo.

Interestingly, this decision actually helps the bags stand out … in certain circumstances. For instance, if you use them for EDC purposes and are a city-going commuter, the forest patterns are pretty eye-catching against the typical grays and blacks of city streets.

However, if you take them on woodland adventures — and you very much can, they’re plenty tough enough to survive hiking and camping trips — they’re going to blend in much more. In that case, you might want to be careful where you put them, as you could lose them if you’re not careful.

Three of a kind

The three bags in the Forest Floor Camo collection are great as standalone options, but also go wonderfully together as a set. Either way, they’re perfect for a variety of purposes, including EDC, travel, outdoor adventure and more.

The most immediately recognizable for most folks is probably the Rover Pack, which is one of the brand’s most iconic releases ever. This 20L backpack boasts a spacious main compartment, a padded laptop sleeve, water bottle pockets, a weatherproof nylon construction and much more.

The second largest bag is the Mini Quick Pack, which is like a sling bag or hip pack. Like the Rover, it has a durable, weatherproof nylon exterior, but it’s a good deal smaller with its 1.7-liter capacity. It’s ideal for commuters, and it even has a bike light attachment loop.

The smallest is the Mini Shoulder Bag, which is 1.0 liters and is just about large enough to stash your daily EDC gear — phone, keys, wallet and so on — while keeping your pockets free. This is the bag to beat for walkers who don’t need much storage room.
