Terrain 365 has a propensity for making some of the toughest, most durable bladed tools on the market. Throughout its lifespan, the brand’s design language — especially with its folding knives — has continued to evolve.

The brand’s latest, the Terrain 365 Narwhal-AT, might be the ultimate expression of the brand’s ethos (at least so far). It’s not only a gorgeous, minimalist EDC tool but also remarkably robust and well-built.

Gnarly narwhal

With its balanced ovular silhouette and relatively minimalist detailing, you might not realize how robust the Narwhal-AT truly is. That starts with its flipper blade.

Crafted from Terrain 365’s proprietary Terravantium Dendritic Cobalt steel, the blade is tough, holds an edge well and (most critically) is entirely rustproof. It’s so corrosion-resistant that the brand guarantees it for life.

The other end of the knife, the handle, isn’t any less impressive. While the five configurations have varying presentation scale materials — including titanium, carbon fiber and canvas Micarta — they all have a titanium frame lock side.

That means the whole knife, tip to tail, is corrosion-proof and incredibly strong. Even the pocket clip is made from titanium.

Devilish details

As mentioned, this knife’s styling is relatively minimalistic. However, it hides numerous exceptional details that deserve their spotlight.

For instance, the caged ceramic ballbearing pivot has a Hyperglow ring that shines brightly even in the lowest lighting conditions. This detail is functional, as it helps you spot the knife even in pitch black.

The knife also has a back spacer with etched jimping, which helps add grip to the handle. Furthermore, the flipper is low-profile, so it doesn’t jut out quite as far as other flippers, but it’s still entirely functional.

The Narwhal-AT proves that Terrain 365 is just starting to get cooking. If it can keep the momentum up, it spells terrific things for the brand. I, for one, am very excited to see what comes next.

Pricing and availability

Unfortunately, two of the Terrain 365 Narwhal-AT knives are already sold out (and there’s no word yet on a restock). However, two expressions — the titanium and carbon fiber — are still available for $390 and $395, respectively.

That said, they’ll both indeed sell out sooner than later.
