It’s not unusual for exceptional knife designers to collaborate with significant brands. It’s not even unheard of for two noteworthy designers to pair up under a single brand name (like GiantMouse).
However, a trio of prominent knifemakers coming together under a single, unified operation is practically unheard of. Yet, that’s exactly what’s happened with Suprlativ, the brand behind the unusual Piranha knife.

Small blade, big bite
Just one of many in the up-and-coming brand’s growing catalog, The Pirhana is an especially unusual knife. Its silhouette is clearly inspired by other curvy cutting tools, like Persian knives, but that’s just one of its many unique properties.
Its relatively stout 2.615-inch blade is built from M4 super steel, renowned for its strength and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, its long curving edge gives it much more cutting power than it might otherwise have.
The handle opens like a butterfly knife (or a balisong). But instead of swinging freely, the scales snap back together once the blade is extended, creating a seal with rare earth magnets.
