Spyderco’s Tenacious holds high esteem among the everyday carry community and has been one of the brand’s best-selling knives for years. That doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon, if this elevated and upgraded version is any indication.

While this version’s handle scales with their all-new ‘Disarray’ finish certainly stand out as bold and eye-catching, the colorway is far from the only thing this EDC knife has going for it.

Everything in disarray

This version of the Tenacious wouldn’t be possible without a major handle material upgrade. Typically offered in G10, this one has seen its scales swapped for solid titanium. But that’s only the beginning.

Those titanium scales are then individually put through a proprietary heat-anodizing process, granting each one a completely one-of-a-kind color pattern. The end result looks something like a stormy sea or a skyline with lightning bolts arcing across it.

Looks aren’t everything

While those titanium handle scales are the most eye-catching feature on this version of the Tenacious, they’re far from the only noteworthy upgrade.

The blade, for instance, is made from high-performance D2 steel, making it sturdy, reliable and relatively easy to maintain. It’s also available in your choice of silver or black (though there is a $6 price bump for the black).

But the biggest new addition is probably the Reeve Integral Lock. Invented by master knifemaker Chris Reeve, this incredibly sturdy frame locking mechanism is seamlessly built into the titanium handle and offers exceptional strength and security.
