For years, Japanese outdoor brand Snow Peak has championed unique camp tents and shelter designs, but the brand’s latest release is arguably its most flexible offering yet.
The new Fubi is, first and foremost, a spacious modular outdoor living shelter. Its distinct dome shape features a large, angled front side intended to provide unobstructed views of the natural world.
Thanks to a footprint that measures 14.25′ L x 21.7′ W and a max ceiling height of 7.5′ H, it’s technically big enough for four adults to socialize, cook, and move around easily inside. For a family of two adults a few small kids, the space would feel even more luxurious.
Three walls function as entry points with attached mesh panels to allow for airflow and visibility. The front door also includes side panels that can be positioned in different ways to create awnings. There’s even a skylight panel for letting light in, and a Shield Roof rain fly to protect against foul weather.

Owners can also attach up to two so-called Inner Rooms, each of which can comfortably fit two adults or be set up to work as a separate sleeping and protected living quarters on either side of the shelter. Snow Peak also sells option Fubi Inner Mats designed explicitly for the Fubi Inner Rooms for extra padding and comfort.
The Fubi retails for $2,289.95, which includes the shelter structure and one Fubi inner room. Adding on an additional room costs $324. If you pick up the totally optional mats for both rooms for $179.95 a piece, you’re looking at a total price of $2,973.85 for a maxed-out version of the system capable of hosting four adults.
That’s a hefty premium that’ll put the system out of reach for many campers. For car campers who can afford to invest in the system though, the Fubi is one of the most flexible and accommodating outdoor shelters we’ve ever seen on the market.
