Kershaw’s Ken Onion-designed Leek is one of the most iconic and beloved pocket knives ever. It’s such an important design that I’ve been known to suggest that every EDC fan should own at least one.
One of the best things about the Leek is that there’s a version for everyone — everything from budget-friendly basic options to ultra-high-end opulent redesigns. While I’ve been privy to many, I’m also the first to admit when I drop the ball.
Such is the case with the Shinola x Kershaw Leek Petosky Stone. Somehow, this drop-dead-gorgeous slipped right under my radar. But that’s okay because now you can join me in reveling at it.

Etched in stone
One very apparent difference between the standard Leek and this Shinola redesign is the presentation handle scale. While the regular Leek has an all-metal construction, this one features a Petosky stone inlay.
For those unaware, Petosky stone is a fossilized prehistoric coral native to Michigan, Shinola’s home state. Because of its natural properties, every sample of Petosky stone is wholly unique.
