Last year, an unknown brand hit the EDC space with a gorgeous minimalist utility knife. Despite the huge success of the Kickstarter campaign, Pichi Design has been relatively quiet since.

Now, the brand is back with an even more ambitious project. Called the Pichi Design Kameta, this new crowdfunded campaign seeks to deliver a stylish, unique, ultralight EDC knife with dozens of easy customization options.

Suitable for cyberpunks

The first thing you’ll notice about the Kameta is its unique silhouette. This angular knife sports a distinct cyberpunk aesthetic that helps it stand out from the otherwise crowded EDC knife space.

But this knife is a lot more than just looks. It’s built on an ultralight, ultra-tough, full-titanium frame with a liner lock.

That frame is mated to a VG-10 steel tanto blade with dual deployment options — a flipper and a nail nick. Furthermore, the VG-10 blade has a Damascus option, which you can select via your campaign contribution.

Without the scales, the Kameta weighs just 63 grams (about 2.2 ounces), making it one of the lightest knives in its class. For reference, it measures seven inches long, 2.8 of which make up the blade, so it’s not compact by any standards.

It also has a removable, deep-carry wire pocket clip for easier EDC inclusion.

Hot swap

As mentioned, the big value proposition of this unique flipper knife is its customization. The scales come in six individual pieces, which can be mixed and matched as you desire. And swapping them is relatively simple, only requiring the removal of a couple of screws.

The scales are also available in numerous materials and various color options. These include FRN, translucent PEI, carbon fiber, titanium, G10, and copper. More scale options will require a greater investment, but the options (and combinations) are pretty incredible.

While handle customization isn’t new in the EDC world, few knives are made specifically for it, and even fewer have as many easily swapped options as the Kameta.

Coming soon

Good news! The Pichi Design Kameta is already fully funded (and then some). As of this article, the brand had crushed its Kickstarter goal by nearly $32,000.

Thankfully, there are 10 days left in the campaign, so you can still get in on the action. Pricing for this novel customizable knife starts at about $161.
