A fairly large, vibrant customization scene exists in the everyday carry knife world. However, those who want to add some custom flair to their blades typically have to learn how to disassemble their handles and mechanisms. It can sometimes be a time-consuming endeavor.

The minimalist Noc Knives MT-30 EDC knife brilliantly and cleverly simplifies that process. In fact, it might be the most easily and quickly customized knife I’ve ever seen.

Hot-swap scales

The beauty and simplicity of the MT-30’s customization lie in its handle inlays. Unlike other knives where the inlays are bolted to the scales, this knife has a magnetic attachment system.

With just a little tug, you can swap out the scales in seconds, like pulling refrigerator magnets off your freezer. However, the inlays are set so deeply and precisely in the scales that they won’t pop off accidentally.

While the brand hasn’t started selling swappable scales yet, the knife was launched with 11 different options. They include carbon fiber, Fatcarbon, Damascus steel and numerous others.

That customization also extends from the presentation side to the lock side of the knife, meaning you can mix and match. Hopefully, the brand will soon launch standalone scales for purchase.

Built rock-solid

Even without the custom scale swapping, the Noc Knives MT-30 is an incredibly solid knife. It measures 7.59 inches total with a 3.5-inch blade and weighs between 5.6 and 7.12 ounces (depending on the scale inlays).

The clip-point blade is crafted from Böhler M390 super steel — renowned for its edge retention, strength, corrosion resistance and more — and is available with a DLC coating. It also boasts a thumb hole for manual deployment.

Below the handle inlays, you’ll find titanium scales, a matching pocket clip and a sturdy and secure integrated frame lock. All things considered, this knife is a pretty incredible value.
