Nike loves a good reissue. The company routinely dips into its archive to bring back vintage styles, especially for its outdoor-leaning sublabel All Conditions Gear (ACG).
Recently, we’ve seen reappearances of the Air Max Goadome, Torre Mid and Rufus, all from from the late 1990s or early aughts.
Suffice to say, you’d be forgiven for thinking the Swoosh’s latest hiker, called the Cygnal, was itself a revival of a decades-old model — especially with its retro feel. But make no mistake, this is an original silhouette.

Modern boot, retro vibes
Much of Cygnal’s old-timey aesthetic comes from the boot’s inclusion of metal eyelets, rounded laces and a suede-leather upper in lieu of a synthetic material. Meanwhile, padding around the collar and near the top of the tongue complete a convincing disguise.
