If the Nike C1ty looks familiar, it isn’t by accident.

The everyday sneaker borrows several visual elements from the brand’s high-profile General Purpose Shoe, including its molded cup sole and microfiber collar.

But what makes it truly exceptional is an approachable price tag — the C1ty is cheaper than a pair of Air Force 1s — and growing number of muted color combinations.

That said, the latest installment in the series goes beyond a new color.

The C1ty Premium is an upgraded take on the base model, bringing upgraded materials and an outdoorsy edge that effectively turns the silhouette into a retro hiker.

The shoe showcases the same suede paneling found on the original C1ty shoe, however, it replaces the standard mesh with hardwearing Cordura for a tactical edge.

That extra bit of durability and ruggedness is also reinforced by metal eyelets, where the final transformation takes place.

Here, traditional flat-lays make way for Taslan-esque laces that give it the appearance of a shoe that would look right at home on the trail — which, despite the urban-inspired name, would be a more appropriate stomping ground to test out the oversized lugs.

Availability and pricing

Previously released in a saturated yellow Nike calls “Wheat,” the C1ty Premium has officially surfaced overseas in even more outdoor-leaning colorways, such as “Light British Tan.”

Expect them to land stateside in the coming weeks with a price tag of $115 — a small bump up from the standard C1ty sneaker.
