Native Union normally trades in tech accessories, but the brand’s entry into the commuter pack sector makes total sense.

Native Union is best known for its catalog of stylish, functional tech accessories. But recently, the brand has quietly been getting into another semi-related category: everyday carry.

Its best, most significant foray therein has been its Native Union W.F.A. (Work From Anywhere) bags. These EDC packs are minimalist beauties on the outside, but they’re still true to Native Union’s first love — tech — on the inside.

Unified design

While the three bags all have very separate styles — a backpack, tote and sling — they do share some common DNA. For instance, they’re all built with sustainability and durability in mind and feature the same stylistic language.

All three packs have 100 percent recycled polyester (rPET) exteriors, which are tough and environmentally friendly. The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, and the bags’ other accents are made from plant-based materials. They also have Cordura bottoms, adding to their longevity and toughness.

As Native Union specializes in tech accessories, it’s no surprise their bags are well-suited to it, too.

They also all feature thick, organic cotton straps. Not only is that another point in the sustainability column, but it’s also durable while still being comfortable (especially against bare skin).

Of course, they also all look outstanding, even up close — the stitching’s craftsmanship is especially pleasing. But that should come as no surprise; Native Union has a long history of crafting beautiful products.

Tech at the forefront

As you’d probably expect, the internals of these bags were built with technology storage in mind. Tech is, after all, a core focus of Native Union’s product catalog.

For instance, the two larger bags — the backpack and the tote — both have built-in padded laptop sleeves, so you can safely haul your folding computer wherever you go (yes, even the farmers’ market).

All three bags also have hidden pockets for small tech trackers (like the brand’s own Find It Tag), adding a level of security. Furthermore, they have elastic compartments for cables and chargers, water-resistant finishing, key leashes and so on.

Other details include YKK zippers, discreet exterior pockets, reinforced seams, felt lining and more.
