There’s a reason why the Leatherman name is synonymous with the entire multi-tool category, at least in America. Tim Leatherman’s (yes, that’s his real name) original Pocket Survival Tool, introduced in 1983, was, at minimum, the first to popularize designs that included a larger set of needle-nosed pliers. And even today, over 40 years later, the brand still makes some of the best multi-tools on the market.

But if you’ve never owned one, now might be the time to hop aboard the bandwagon or pick up a gift for someone you know. While prices for multi-tools have been heavily impacted by inflation over the last few years, Leatherman is currently selling many of its popular multi-tools – including the best-in-class Wave+ 18—for low prices we haven’t seen in years in some cases.
