Leatherman takes a page out of its own book by adding a trio of new colorways to its Skeletool lineup. Just in time for summer, the reskinned Skeletool CX and KB multitools follow the ultra-popular Leatherman and Topo Designs collab from 2022 and bring a pop of personality to one of the brand’s longest standing collections.

Released in 2008, the Skeletool has become something of a present-day classic in the realm of EDC. It’s second only to the Micra from 1996 in terms of seniority within Leatherman’s catalog, though variants — such as the CX, with its upgraded blade — are newer to the scene.

Now fans of the series can pick up the CX in three new colorways, including Verdant (soft green and navy), Nightsade (light and dark blue) and Paradise (light blue and salmon).

Under the hood, Leatherman loyalists will discover the same multitool they know and love. Its seven tools include regular and needlenose pliers, wire cutters, a carabiner that doubles as a bottle opener and, finally, a bit driver. The CX boasts a blade forged from 154CM steel, compared to the regular stainless steel found on the OG Skeletool.

The Skeletool KB Also Gets the Summer Treatment

If you already own a Skeletool and don’t see the need to double up on this EDC classic, you can still partake in Leatherman’s summer festivities with the pared-back Skeletool KB. The knife-and-bottle-opener-only variant also comes in all three colorways for the cool price of $40. Both multitools are available now from Leatherman’s website.
