One of the most significant downsides with most camping tents is that they require a relatively flat surface. Furthermore, even with good padding, the terrain can make sleeping uncomfortable. That’s to say nothing of the risks of being at the same ground level as roving critters.
The folks at New British Designs, commissioned by the hospitality group Khudhva, have turned to lunar lander design to solve all those issues in one fell swoop. The result is a gorgeous platform-based sleeping solution called the Kudhva Kanvas 001 K-Tent.

Out-of-this-world design
What sets the Kanvas 001 apart most is its tripod platform. Made from sturdy, lightweight aluminum, it offers a raised sleeping space to save users from uneven terrain and unwanted wildlife. However, that’s just one of its two major benefits.
The other comes from its trio of adjustable legs, a design inspired by NASA’s Apollo 11 moon lander. Because they can extend and retract independently, they allow the Kanvas 001 to be set up almost anywhere, even if there’s no flat space. That means less time searching for a campsite and clearing away debris and more time relaxing and sleeping.
Furthermore, users can access the sleeping space via a pair of integrated ladders flanking the tent’s entrance. These ladders allow for easy human access but prevent animals from wandering too close, which is especially helpful at night.
