Ben and Athena Petersen started Knafs as a side hustle out of a garage in 2018. Since then, the company hit paydirt with its Lander series of EDC knives. All sharing the same signature silhouette (even the Nintendo Wii version), these knives are well-balanced in styling and functionality, making them excellent go-to folders.

Following its fifth iteration โ€” a wildly affordable design meant to be the best all-around starter knife โ€” the brand is already back again. The Knafs Lander 6 is the smallest take on the beloved series and also the most affordable.

Chain gang

As mentioned, the Knafs Lander 6 is by far the smallest model in the series. It measures only 3.77 inches in total and is even smaller when closed โ€” about the same length as a house key.

As you might expect, that makes this knife ideal for keychain carry. However, it does not lack functionality. It has many of the same features youโ€™d expect out of a full-sized folding knife.

That includes a back lock. Yes, this knife is still locking, even as small as it is. This adds some security to it, especially when in use. It also helps elevate it beyond just being a novelty.

It also has a nail nick for easy deployment and comes with its own keyring, which simplifies using it when attached to your keychain.

Ultra-discreet EDC

Despite its diminutive size, the knife still offers some excellent utility. This is largely due to its combination of good construction and solid materials.

For instance, the blade is made of 4034SS steel, which is pretty affordable but still offers good durability, edge retention and corrosion resistance.

That blade is mated to a fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle. Again, whilst being affordable, this material is also lightweight and surprisingly tough. It also helps the knife achieve an impressively low 0.4-ounce weight.

Remember: This isnโ€™t some beefy outdoor survival knife. Itโ€™s a tiny keychain folder that can be extremely useful in a pinch. So long as you know what to expect from it, itโ€™s an incredible value โ€” especially when you take into account its absurdly low price.

Pricing and availability

While the Knafs Lander 6 keychain knife is mind-bogglingly small, its greatest strength might be its affordability. It costs just $15 in all four colors, and you can pick it up right now from the brandโ€™s site.
