Hoka may have started as a running brand but the company has quickly become one of the biggest names in hiking. Its diverse collection of shoes and boots includes models for every kind of trail — and all sorts of weather.

The throughline, of course, is Hoka’s famously soft cushioning, which raised eyebrows when the brand launched at the height of minimalist-footwear movement.

Fast forward 15 years and now everyone and their mother wants one of those plush-yet-lightweight rides — especially when they’re discounted up to $60.

Hoka Anacapa 2 Mid GTX Hiking Boots

Right now at a variety of reputable retailers from REI to Hoka itself, you can score some of the brand’s best hiking boots with some serious deals.

These include the comfortable, leather-laden Kaha 2 GTX; breathable Anacapa 2 Mid GTX; and ultrafast Hoka Speedgoat 5 Mid GTX.

The best part? Every size is in stock across multiple colorways — for now, at least.

Hoka Kaha 2 GTX

The Kaha 2 GTX is Hoka’s top-of-the-line hiking boot, normally retailing for $240 but reduced to $180 in three colorways — red, olive green and blue-gray.

The upper comes equipped with durable nubuck leather that’s reinforced with Gore-Tex for added water resistance, hence the GTX in its name.

The dual-density foam promises a heavy dose of cushion, without feeling muddy, while the rockered shape gives it some life on the trail that makes you want to keep moving along.

Hoka also makes a low-cut version of the Kaha 2 that normally retails for $220 but now drops to $165. Like the boot version, the Kaha 2 Low GTX is available in red, green and blue-gray for the discounted price.

Hoka Anacapa 2 Mid GTX

The Anacapa 2 Mid GTX is Hoka’s mid-range offering but perhaps the brand’s most balanced boot, with features that suit a wider variety of conditions compared to the Kaha 2.

Like the Kaha 2, the Anacapa 2 Mid GTX combines nubuck leather and Gore-Tex for a protective package that can take on the elements. However, its EVA midsole is slightly streamlined for a more agile ride.

This is the second generation of the Anacapa series. When it came out, Hoka made a big deal about its sustainability efforts, and rightly so.

Hoka Speedgoat 5 Mid GTX

For hikers who really want to step up the pace, the ankle-height version of Hoka’s famously fast trail-running shoe, the Speedgoat, is also deeply discounted.

The Speedgoat 5 Mid GTX, available in two stealthy colorways, is definitively Hoka’s lightest hiking boot. But don’t go thinking it can’t go hard.

The silhouette features a Gore-Tex membrane for added water resistance, while a rubber toe cap buffers against knocks. A Vibram Megagrip outsole enhances its grip on loose trails.

(Though Hoka just released the Speedgoat 6 trail-running shoe, the brand has yet to release a mid-height version. That means the Hoka Speedgoat 5 Mid GTX is still the most up-to-date Speedgoat variant with ankle protection.)
