Dometic might come across as an up-and-coming outdoor brand, following the rise of its electric coolers. That is, until you realize just how big it is.

The company, which now owns Igloo, records annual sales north of $2 billion, with its hand in everything from camp lights to RV toilets.

Moving forward, that reach will also extend to bags.

Cooler or carry-all?

The Dometic Unrestricted collection is a new series of EDC and adventure bags that includes two totes, a backpack and a duffel.

What’s more, each piece doubles as a cooler, with recycled PrimaLoft
Gold insulation that adds another layer of protection from the elements for sensitive gear like cameras and computers.

“Unrestricted was designed to flex,” says Josh Militello, who oversees mobile cooling solutions at Dometic. “These are coolers, yes — but they’re also smart everyday bags with real utility, built to carry more than cans.”

Beyond the PrimaLoft, the bags feature a suite of premium materials, spanning Cordura Re/cor and rugged YKK AquaGaurd — both of which bring durability and water resistance to the collection.

Meanwhile, the straps of the backpack feature OrthoLite padding for breathable, brand-name comfort.

Unrestricted isn’t the first bag collection on the market to combine everyday utility with thermal prowess. But it does represent a growing demand within the EDC space for bags that can cover a lot of ground.

As such, it’s not surprising to see Dometic enter the category, especially with its expertise in both electric and conventional coolers — both of which, just like these bags, can do so much more than chill down beer.

That isn’t to say the new collection isn’t up to the task. According to the brand, the Unrestricted Duffel (the largest in the collection) holds up to 51 standard cans.
