Early each year, Böker releases a knife or two that shows off just what the brand is capable of when money is no object.

While it could be called something cheeky like The Reminder, the renowned German knife maker takes a slightly classier route and classifies such knives under the label “Collection.”

The Collection 2025 is the kind of knife that, when you set it on your desk, immediately makes you want to upgrade everything else in its vicinity.

This year’s series includes a beautiful Magnum fixed blade, but it’s the offering coming from the brand’s higher-end Plus department that really has my attention.

Because with both its design and materials, the Böker Plus Collection 2025 is truly a wonder to behold.

Eurocentrically exquisite

This knife’s background is interesting in that a trio of European nations are involved. It is designed by a Frenchman, manufactured in Italy and produced by a German brand, after all.

To get more specific on the former, designer Thierry Savidan is a trained optician and self-taught knife enthusiast with a knack for blending modern ingredients and tried-and-true mechanics.

The 3.38-inch satin-finished MagnaCut blade deploys via a back flipper or nail nick, swinging smoothly thanks to a ball bearing and held in place with a liner lock made of — what else? — titanium.

Those qualities are really on display with the Collection 2025, beginning with the blade, a 3.38-inch drop-point made of satin-finished CPM MagnaCut steel.

For the uninitiated, MagnaCut continues to be the super steel of the moment, prized for its blend of edge retention, corrosion resistance and toughness.

The blade also features a fuller that helps it shed some weight and adds visual flair.

For those in the know, the premium materials do most of the talking. For everyone else, the stunning look will suffice.

Not to be outdone, this knife’s handle is also a beaut. It features scales made of Marble Carbon, augmented by bolsters, a backspacer with non-slip jimpings and a 3D-milled tip-up pocket clip, all made of titanium.

Complementing these aesthetics are blue anodized elements, including the handle screws and a mokume ring along the pivot screw.

Take your pick of favorite features. For me, the handle’s Marble Carbon really lifts things up a notch.

Befitting its status, the Collection 2025 comes complete with a felt case and a certificate of authenticity — and is limited to 500 pieces. It is a collector’s item, after all.
