Over the years, the EDC fanatics at Blade HQ have offered some silly, fun, exclusive knives. The most famous is probably the ongoing donut-themed Dessert Warrior series, but there have been others, namely the hot dog-inspired Weiner Warrior series.

Now, another goofy offering has joined their ranks. This pair of corn-inspired automatic knives, Böker’s KalashniCobs, have the same tongue-in-cheek spirit. However, they’re also solidly built, impressively detailed and worthy of inclusion in your EDC.

Best of all, they’re finally dropping on Blade HQ for purchase.

No joke

Way back in the summer of 2023, the internet became obsessed with a kid whose exuberance for corn knew no bounds. That original Recess Therapy video spawned seemingly endless parodies, songs and memes.

Even the folks at Blade HQ got in on the fun with a meme that transformed the starchy yellow vegetable into a pocket knife. The knife purveyors couldn’t have known the overwhelmingly positive response they were going to get.

Fast forward to today and that tongue-in-cheek joke has become a reality. More impressively, the corn-themed knife is actually legit, made real by none other than Böker, one of the best EDC brands in the biz.

As wacky and weird as it might seem, the aptly named Böker KalashniCob, which started as little more than a corny jest, is now a surprisingly solid automatic knife.

Corny style, cool details

The most obvious details of the Böker KalashniCob are its green handle and a corn cob-printed blade. But a closer look at its specs reveals that this is a lot more than just a joke. (Keep in mind, this knife is based on the existing Böker Kalashnikov auto knives, so it shares similar specs.)

The textured handle is built from lightweight, durable aluminum and the blade is crafted from D2 steel — both respectable materials, albeit relatively affordable ones.

The knife also comes with a push-button automatic deployment that springs its blade out quickly and smoothly. That deployment also doubles as a button lock, which adds a bit of safety and security to the mix.

The most impressive detail, however, can only be found on the serrated version of the KalashniCob. Take a gander at those serrations and you’ll notice that they’re spaced and shaped to match the corn kernels themselves, which is a spectacular detail that maintains the knife’s functionality and usefulness.

The corn kernel-shaped serrations are my favorite detail on either of these knives.

Coming soon

The Blade HQ-exclusive Böker KalashniCob automatic knives launch today (Tuesday, February 25) at noon EST. If you have a free account with Blade HQ, you can add them to your wishlist and be notified when they drop.

However, they’ll probably sell out quickly, so I recommend keeping a tab open and refreshing it as the drop approaches.

As goofy as they might seem, these knives have generated a lot of interest and are relatively inexpensive — $67 at most. As such, they’re not going to last long.
