Every year, the folks at Böker drop some extra-special limited-edition EDC knives. But when the Böker Plus Collection 2025 dropped a couple of weeks ago, I was sure that’d be the last opulent release of the bunch.

It seems I was wrong, as the Böker Damast Annual Knife 2025 release proves. This masterclass EDC knife blends traditional elements with upscale, contemporary materials and mechanisms.

Damast(er) of ceremonies

This knife is, in a word, stunning. That’s largely due to its blade. Crafted from USA-made Chad Nichols steel, this Stainless Meadow-pattern Damast has 100 individual layers, granting it both beauty and strength.

Yet, while the blade is the clear eye-catcher, the handle is no slouch itself. Its scales are made of super-strong, ultralight titanium. Its pivot is also adorned with Böker’s tree sigil.

Other superb details on this high-end gentleman’s knife include thermally-colored hardware and a titanium pocket clip with an embedded ball bearing.

Best of all, the whole thing was handcrafted in Böker’s Solingen workshop. You can feel confident knowing this knife literally passed through the hands of numerous expert knifemakers.

This knife differs from other Trapper-style blades because it has a flipper deployment and frame lock.

No ordinary trapper

Inspired by traditional trapper knives, this knife (like its siblings in Böker’s TRPPR line) brings that timeless staple of the knifemaking industry into the present.

While its silhouette harkens to its inspiration, its mechanisms are thoroughly modern. That includes a flipper-style deployment instead of a more traditional nail nick and an integrated frame lock instead of a slip joint or back lock.

It’s a beautiful melding of old and new in a knife that’s equal parts showpiece and utilitarian tool. Whether you are brave enough to put it through its paces — knowing how much it costs — is another thing entirely.
