If I asked you to picture a pair of Birkenstocks right now, you’d probably imagine the iconic, double-strapped Arizona sandal with the cork footbed. The Arizona has been the brand’s champion for years, and recently went from granola-chic to, well, chic, with celebrities the likes of Margot Robbie and Naomi Watts slipping them on.
Birkenstock’s lifestyle sandals may be enjoying the limelight, but the today the brand is stepping into new territory with its latest release, the Mogami Terra, which is built specifically for outdoor use. Birkenstock has dipped its toes into the outdoor category with its Active Range, but today’s drop takes things up a notch.
What’s different about the Mogami Terra?
Birkenstock’s existing Active Range features the Rugged and Adventure collections, both of which feature a sturdier outsole than classic Arizonas, with more support as well. The Mogami Terra builds upon the Active Range, and is more lightweight than its predecessors, thanks to a single molded PU contoured footbed and sole. The Mogami Terra were designed to be worn in wet or dry environments, on hikes, hanging out at camp or running round town.

Along with the single, molded PU footbed and sole, the Mogami Terra features synthetic Birko-Flor uppers for water crossings and easy cleanings, as well as hook-and-loop backstraps for easy on/off and adjustments on the go.

The Mogami Terra is meant to be a “go-anywhere” style, and features the same orthopedic construction as the rest of Birkenstock’s fleet. The Mogami Terra is available in men’s, women’s and kid’s sizing, and comes in five colorways.
