Lovers of EDC multi-tools are spoiled for choice today. Yet, among the vast number of contenders, some tools still stand out in the crowded gallery. The Big Idea Design Titanium Pocket Tool is one such offering.

To really understand how great this new upgrade is, you first need to grasp how great the TPT Slide already was. Measuring just three inches in length, this slender tool is much smaller than most EDC knives and multi-tools, yet it’s jam-packed with value.

Quicker and more user-friendly than ever

One recurring issue has popped up for folks who own the TPT Slide: The process of swapping the insert or razor blade for a new one was kind of janky. It was the one major downside in an otherwise excellent EDC offering.

Luckily, that downside has been rectified in the TPT Slide EZ Swap edition. The addition of the EZ Swap mechanism has eliminated the frustration of the original, making changing out the blade far quicker and less frustrating.

Instead of having to wiggle and wrench it, there’s now a little lever that, when opened, allows users to change the blade in seconds. When the blade is replaced, closing the lever locks it back into its secure position, and — bam! — it’s ready to go once more.

That’s also a major boon for anyone who likes to travel with their TPT, as it makes removing the bladed part — the one the TSA would undoubtedly nail you for — a cinch. Yet you still have access to its bevy of other tools.
