Last week, we covered a wild, joint effort Bestech knife from designers Grzegorz Grabarski of Kombou Designs and Toni N. Tietzel of TNT Knives. As it turns out, Grabarski has been sneakily busy recently, unveiling a second, very different offering under the Bestech umbrella.

Called the Bestech Prydwen, this premium super steel everyday carry knife draws inspiration from a somewhat strange place: the world of video games.

Inspired by an airship

While there’s a lot of buzz surrounding Amazon’s Fallout TV series, the show is based on a Bethesda video game series of the same name. The fourth entry in the series, Fallout 4, is where Bestech’s Prydwen gets its name.

In the game, there’s a collective of armor-wearing warriors called the Brotherhood of Steel (they also appear in the show, as well as the other games). Their flagship — a carrier airship that itself is named after the King Arthur myth — is called the Prydwen.

While this Bestech knife borrows its name from that airship, it also draws design cues from the fictional vessel’s silhouette and colorways (which you can see on Grabarski’s Instagram highlights).

An inspired design built with premium materials

There’s no denying Grabarski’s design prowess. But this knife wouldn’t live up to its inspiration unless the materials and mechanisms backed up the style cues. Thankfully, the Prydwen is firing on all cylinders.

That starts with its 3.68-inch modified Wharncliffe blade, built from MagnaCut steel, that promises exceptional performance on almost all fronts. It also extends to the jaw-dropping handle, which is made of titanium and features a thick “dark matter copper” carbon inlay.

The knife also has a ceramic ball-bearing pivot for smooth deployment, accessed via its golden thumb disc or front flipper. Plus, it features a sturdy frame lock to ensure it stays secure when deployed.

Not only is the Bestech Prydwen available now, but it’s already on sale for $54 off — bringing the price down to $306.

Admittedly, it’s a higher price than most folks are probably used to paying for an EDC knife. However, it’s well within what we’d expect from this combination of exceptional design, premium materials and top-notch mechanisms.
