Released last spring, Benchmade’s innovative Narrows quickly established itself as the pocket knife to beat in the premium ultralight space. Creating it involved a complete redesign of the brand’s patented AXIS lock, with a torsion spring replacing liners and omega springs in order to shave weight.
Perhaps most notable is how light the new knife is. The Mini Narrows tips the scales at a positively feathery 1.98 ounces.
The result was a super steel-bladed, titanium-framed beauty that’s 33 percent thinner than the brand’s best-selling Bugout, with two times the break strength and a weight of just 2.4 ounces. The effort did not go unnoticed, as the Narrows was named American-Made Knife of the Year at the industry’s biggest event, Blade Show.
How could Benchmade possibly follow that up? With a sequel that’s even more compact and light, of course. Today brings the long-awaited launch of the Benchmade Mini Narrows.
