I have written about Artisan Cutlery half a dozen times now, and as I look back at previous stories, one unifying factor immediately jumps out. Call them what you will, but the brand is never boring.
From the gentlemanly Holm to the otherworldly Wizard Series to the brain-breaking Butcherling, the 8-year-old, YangJiang China-based manufacturer is anything but ordinary.

So I guess it should come as no surprise that the brand could bust out a super-luxe super steel knife without breaking a sweat.
That’s right. Though AC tends to lean on its proprietary blade steel, AR-RPM9 with most of its knives, the limited-edition Revel gets the hottest super steel of the past year.
Prime materials, streamlined design
Whereas some of the brand’s knives have a lot going on — just think of the Holm’s button-lock plus safety switch, or the Butcherling blade’s triple compound grinds — AC stripped things down for the Revel.
Thanks to a design by minimalist master Ray Laconico, who last year crafted Vosteed’s exceptional Vallhund, the Revel gets right to the proverbial point.
