Aer hit the ground running after a crowdfunding campaign in 2014. Since then, the bag brand has earned numerous accolades for its minimalist-styled, fully-featured duffles, backpacks and other bags. The brand even recently got into the luggage game with a superb carry-on.
The San Francisco-based outfit isn’t ready to slow down quite yet if its latest release is any indication. Called the Simple Collection, this launch sees two more technical bags enter Aer’s catalog, and they might just be the brand’s most minimalist yet.

Two of a kind
As mentioned, two aptly named bags comprise the Simple Collection. The first is the Simple Tote — a shoulder-hauled, open-top bag — and the second is the Simple Pouch — a smaller, zippered bag with a shoulder strap.
While they’re clearly different in size (and there are some feature variances), the bags do have a few things in common. For starters, they’re both made from Ultra400X, an ultralight, waterproof sailcloth — the same material used in the sails of performance racing yachts.
They’re also both extremely lightweight. The larger of the two weighs just 0.5 pounds, whereas the smaller one weighs only 0.2 pounds. That means they’ll really only weigh about as much as whatever you put inside them, making them ideal for everyday carry.
