Line Blade

Skis-of-OR-Gear-Patrol-Line-Blade

Price: $900
Release Date: Fall 2020
Most skis try to give you everything you could ever want; others aim to do a specific thing as best as they can. That’s what Line’s Blade does — the company made it to be a carving machine. Inside its multi-layer construction are two separate sheets of metal that provide power and stability but, thanks to a gap between them underfoot, can flex into a perfect turn.

Sweet Protection Looper MIPS

Skis-of-OR-Gear-Patrol-Sweet-Protection

Price: $159
Release Date: Fall 2020
Sweet Protection’s mantra toward building helmets is to go above and beyond industry safety standards. The Looper MIPS is no exception, even though it’s remarkably lightweight. Its shell has varying zones of elasticity and rigidity to protect different areas of the head, and it includes a MIPS liner that guards against rotating impacts.

POC Cornea Solar Switch

Skis-of-OR-Gear-Patrol-POC

Price: TBA
Release Date: Fall 2020
Thanks to electrochromism, skiers and snowboarders can change the tint of their goggle lenses with the push of a button. It’s remarkable tech, but it requires bulky battery packs. Not POC’s Cornea Solar Switch though. The goggle adapts to light conditions instantly and automatically, drawing the energy it needs to do so straight from the sun.

The North Face Summit L5 FutureLight Ventrix Jacket

Best-of-OR-128-Gear-Patrol-TNF

Price: $550
Release Date: Fall 2020
TNF’s proprietary FutureLight material is some of the best waterproof-breathable fabric we’ve come across yet. Here, the brand combines with a Ventrix stretch synthetic insulation midlayer to keep heat in and moisture out.

Price: $579
Release Date: Available now at select Jones dealers worldwide.
The brand founded by big mountain icon Jeremy Jones successfully shoots the gap with this new hybrid board featuring a directional freeride shape and freestyle spirit. Coolest feature? Float Pack inserts, which allow the rider to assume a setback stance when things get steep and deep.

Marmot WarmCube Featherless Hoody

Best-of-OR-128-Gear-Patrol-Warmcube

Price: $400
Release Date: Fall 2020
Marmot’s innovative 3D WarmCube tech uses a bunch of cubes to not only keep down fill in place but trap heat in the surrounding air channels to maximize insulation. Now they’ve migrated that tech from a parka to a lightweight hoodie.

Zeal Optics Beacon Goggle

Best-of-OR-128-Gear-Patrol-Zeal

Price: $129+
Release Date: Winter 2021
With a profile inspired by the physics behind air control towers, the Beacon boasts a 10-degree slant to its lens. The aim is to open up the wearers’ vertical peripheral vision, allowing them to better spot their lines upon descent.

ThirtyTwo Jones MTB Snowboard Boot

Best-of-OR-128-Gear-Patrol-32-Boot
