Adidas’s New Gym-Ready Headphones Are Unbelievably Washable

No matter how much you sweat, these headphones will stay fresh — and sound great.

While there’s no shortage of running headphones, it’s hard to find a pair that you can sweat in, then wash, so they last forever. The Adidas team vowed to change that with its new sport headphones. The team focused on sound quality, usability, fit and durability with both over- and in-ear headphones, specifically designed for running, gym workouts and other active pursuits.

Our crew tested the in-ear buds on a run over the Williamsburg Bridge. We were impressed with how quickly the buds paired with our phones, the high-quality sound coupled with the ability to still hear ambient noise and the easy-to-use controls built into the shoelace-like wire that sits at the nape of your neck. But we’re really wowed by the over-ear headphones.

With a removable headband and ear cups that are totally washable, you never have to worry about how long these will last. You can toss these in your gym bag and not worry about breakage — they’re super flexible but not fragile, so they bend rather than break. A battery life of 40 hours and fast USB-C charging means you can hit the gym daily without sweating the charge.

Both versions — the in-ear FWD-01 and over-ear RPT-01 — are now available for pre-order. The headphones launch September 25th for $149 and $169, respectively.
