There’s more than one reason why Quiet Carry’s Shorty cemented a place on our list of the Best Multi-tools Available. Sure, its design accommodates a minimalist folding knife or a bottle-opening pry tool, but it’s how it seamlessly integrates keys into its construction that makes it a pocket-friendly stand-out. And it’s those same qualities that draw us to the recently revealed Q3.
The Q3 is a bridge between the Shorty and its predecessor, the Q2. It’s larger than the former but more compact than the latter. More precisely, its closed body is 2.9 by 0.95 inches (and half an inch tall with four keys inside). That’s tiny, considering that it includes a clip-point knife or a tool featuring a belt and rope cutter, hex insert, flat head screwdriver, bottle opener and scraper.
Quiet Carry may have made the Q3 small, but it didn’t skimp on its construction. It uses AUS8 blade steel with a frame lock, locking screws and a titanium body. It’s a combination that’s reliably strong with components that remain functional despite their size, and it weighs just two ounces.
Quiet Carry’s Q3 key organizer multi-tool is currently funding on Kickstarter and has already exceeded its goal.
