The brand name is as bad as they come, but the Douchebag ski carrier still deserves credit for its excellent design. The original concept was born in 2009 from a Norwegian triumvirate that includes skiing superstar (and snow camo Gallardo driver) Jon Olsson. Their self-stated goal was to create “the best travel equipment for discovering epic powder, freshly groomed parks and gates around the world.” After collaborating with over 150 skiers, industrial designer Per Finne, the entire cast of The Jersey Shore and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, an incredibly versatile ski carrier was born.
The key innovation of the Douchebag lies in its internal ABS “rib cage” and patent pending internal connection rails system. Thanks to this design, the bag can extend or shrink to protect up to two pairs of freeride, park, or junior skis. Once the skis are out, the bag easily rolls down to a compressed size for storage — which as Olsson points out, — winds up being small enough to fit behind the front seat of his Lambo. Also, despite boasting plenty of durable touches like 600D Polyester, Zinc-Alloy buckles, a polyethylene back-protection plate, EPE padding, and 9.2mm PP wheels, the whole kit weighs just 7 pounds, making it light enough to drag with one hand, while you fist pump with the other.
