Soylent, the meal replacement shake expands beyond liquid with the new protein bars or Soylent Squares. If you’ve been so busy that you’ve skipped a meal, Soylent is a viable alternative. Its ingredient list reads like a complete meal with protein, carbs, fats, vitamins and minerals. The catch is that not everyone likes drinking their calories, hence the new bars.
Soylent’s new squares are 100 calorie bars that the brand claims to be a meal — you have to eat three or four of them. In each bar, you’ll find five grams of plant protein, 36 nutrients (calcium, vitamin D, folate, vitamin B12 and more) and probiotics. Keep in mind everybody is different and you might need more than a 300 or 400 calorie meal to keep yourself satiated. While real food will always taste better, these bars help you get the proper nutrients in a pinch.
Soylent squares come in Chocolate Brownie, Salted Caramel and Citrus Berry and are available today.
