Americans use 500 million plastic straws every single day. They eventually end up in oceans and landfills, but FinalStraw wants to change that. The stainless steel straw has medical-grade TPE tubing, weighs 2.8 ounces and fits in a 100-percent recycled case that’s not much bigger than a keychain. Just $20 gets you a collapsible straw and saves 584 plastic straws from landfills. Thanks to over 20,000 backers, the $12,500 goal was easily surmounted — the total at time of publish is $981,744. The straws are set to ship in November.
