As part of a handful of launches timed with the professional cycling season getting underway, Specialized has launched a new version of its Evade helmet called the Evade 2 as well as a new pair of S-Works road shoes called the S-Works 7. The Evade 2 is slightly shorter than the original Evade, and offers better ventilation than the original (the original Evade was notorious for being incredibly hot in the summer).
The S-Works line of road shoes is undoubtedly Specialized’s most technologically advanced and best looking. The S-Works 7 was rebuilt from the ground-up and features better power transfer, a more low profile design and updated materials. The dual Boa lace and velcro strap across the toes stay the same.
Both launches represent the pinnacle of Specialized’s hard goods development, and while they may be overkill for the weekend warrior, hardcore cyclists will rejoice in the lightweight efficiency.
