Just as you don’t always have to reinvent the wheel, you don’t always have to reinvent the knife or EDC. Some of the best brands in the business spend as much time improving upon existing products as they do developing new ones, and the sterling results speak for themselves.
Don’t believe us? Just check out the top releases this month, any of which are updates and upgrades rather than brand-new items. As far as we’re concerned, they make a pretty strong case for being part of your permanent collection.
CRKT Squid II

Even a seemingly perfect knife can be improved upon. Exhibit A: this over-the-top upgrade to the already awesome Squid, which boasts edge-holding, wear-resisting Böhler M390 blade steel and, in a first for the Squid family, a liner lock for increased safety. Precise machining, a rounded spine and an IKBS ball bearing pivot system make the sequel extra sleek and smooth. It’s bigger, too — the 2.68-inch blade is more than half an inch longer than its predecessor.
