CRKT CEO[/pullquote]

CRKT (Columbia River Knife and Tool) is a fantastic knifemaking company whose sharp tools are built to inspire and endure. The brand’s quality builds offer a wide range of inspired designs, for which they partner with a huge number of knifemakers, inventors and industrial designers. These inventive pairings have produced awesome knives like the Scribe, which looks like a USB, or the Ritual, a modernized Persian blade.

CRKT’s latest release, a compact carbon fiber version of its legendary CEO folding knife with S35VN blade steel designed exclusively for CRKT’s online store, is a little more on the nose: this is a gentleman’s knife. The folder was designed by knifemaker Richard Rogers with simplicity in mind. Here are three bits worth noting about the CEO.

Designed by Richard Rodgers, a knifemaker and rancher.

Rodgers has been designing knives for more than 20 years; he’s also a cattle rancher in Magdelena, New Mexico. His designs (the CEO, Maven, Cinco, and Dually, among others) are driven by simple angles for a knife that gets the job done just right.

A lightweight yet strong handle.

The CEO has an extremely slim profile, with a compact 2.62” blade. Its marble, high-tech carbon fiber handle is the perfect lightweight counterpart. And the whole knife weighs just 1.7 ounces.

All the extras that matter.

So what makes this a gentleman’s knife? Aside from its sleek design, it’s all the beautiful, understated extras: smooth IKBS ball bearing pivot; premium S35VN blade steel; liner lock for one-handed closing; and an adjustable clip for left- or right-hand carry.
