Topo Designs teamed up with the elevated camping gurus at Kammok to produce a new take on the popular Roo Double Hammock. The Roo is brawny enough to hold two people aloft (or up to 500 pounds) despite weighing only 21 ounces, climbing-certified Kanga Claw carabiners included. It also packs down into its own integrated stuff sack, which makes it ideal for both lightweight camping and just plain hanging around.
But the Roo has been around for a while. The collaboration presents a new chance for Topo Designs to apply some of its signature, slightly retro color palette to an already-proven piece of gear. The vibrant red and turquoise familiar to anyone who’s used a Topo backpack fits well on Roo’s breathable, tear- and stretch-resistant LUNARWAVE ripstop fabric, guaranteed not to fade. The kit also comes with a set of Kammok’s Python Straps, which add 20 feet to the length of the Roo and make tree-friendly hammock setup as straightforward as possible.
