Thom Yorke, the enigmatic frontman of Radiohead, recently approached UK-based backpack maker Millican about an exciting new opportunity. To coincide with Radiohead’s 2017 tour, Yorke wanted to create a very special piece of concert merch: a high-end roll-top backpack, donned in the singular lunar aesthetic of Radiohead’s latest album, A Moon Shaped Pool. Yorke, a self-professed “climate optimist” and outspoken defender of sustainable practices, also wanted the backpack to be made with eco-friendly materials.

Millican delivered. The Radiohead x Millican Roll Pack, part of Millican’s ongoing collaborative Blank Canvas series, is truly a one-of-a-kind backpack. The 18-liter pack features ergonomic shoulder straps, external and internal laptop sleeves, external quick-access pocket, aluminum hardware and a water-repellent polyester outer, made from 40 recycled plastic bottles. The striking splotchy design was created by Stanley Donwood, the artist behind A Moon Shaped Pool‘s album cover and countless other Radiohead visuals. Available in extremely limited quantities.
