There are only two mountain bike clothing companies that matter — Kitsbow and Mission Workshop’s Acre Supply. That is, until a handful of designers left Arc’teryx and started 7mesh. Based in Squamish, British Columbia (the brand derives its name from the native spelling of Squamish: S?wx?wú7mesh), 7mesh is making some of the finest mountain bike apparel on the market. Many of the same design principles and aesthetics that the team applied when they were at Arc’teryx are being applied to this new brand.
We’ve had the opportunity to test some of 7mesh’s mountain bike clothing and are wholly impressed. The Desperado Henley and Glidepath shorts are two of our favorite pieces. Simple, smart, minimalist design is key on the trail and 7mesh nails it perfectly. For example, 95% of mountain bike shorts on the market are too baggy and are cheaply made, but he Glidepath shorts eschew both of those industry standards. In addition to making killer mountain bike clothing, 7mesh also makes a great line of road/adventure cycling gear. If you need further convincing that 7mesh is going places, Lululemon recently invested a large sum in the brand. If Lulu is paying attention, that’s saying something.
