Usually, when materials like carbon fiber, steel, ash wood and hand-sewn leather come together you expect to hear them with the likes of Bentley or Rolls Royce. But in this case, they form the components of Hublot’s luxury luge. Only ten of these sledges have been made, built in collaboration between Hublot and Lausanne University of Art and Design, ECAL. Created last year by student Philippe-Albert Lefebvre who pursued his MAS-Luxe, a Masters in Luxury Design and Industry (best degree ever?) the sledge is based off an earlier concept and built not only for its showcase-ready design, but also performance on the slopes. If you’re curious how this über snow toy looks/performs, one will officially be on display at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Garmisch Partenkirchen, which Hublot is sponsoring. Our guess is the other nine will soon be acting as the crown jewel of top sled collectors world wide… relegating their Porsche Design’s bobsleigh to a mere child’s toy.
