Ski industry giant Rossignol is best known for tradition and consistency, as well as a bit of Euro flair — but that didn’t stop the company from secretly releasing a ski this weekend that has been in development for the past three years. Those who have been paying a little extra attention may have noticed a ski in videos released by The Big Picture that didn’t match anything in Rossignol’s arsenal — a secret big-mountain freestyle ski hiding in plain sight.
It was the creators of those videos, pro skiers Chris Logan and Parker White, who worked with the French company to develop the ski until it was perfect. Now, without any formal announcement, a limited run of the Black Ops is available for purchase at $700 a pair. There’s still not much known about the ski other than its 186cm length and 118mm waist, but along with what we’ve seen in edits from Logan and White, it’s enough for anyone to be sure that this is one hard-charging ski made for serious mountains.
