Remember the MoonSwatch? When it launched, it was positively eye-popping, incredibly affordable and … pretty tough to actually get.

That’s what comes to mind for me, in a different sort of way, with the latest announcement from Royal Enfield.

You rarely, if ever, see a bike with this much aesthetic detail for less than $8,000.

Following the big reveal of a stunning ICON Motosports custom Shotgun 650 and a production version at EICMA 2024, the real thing is now actually available.

Just like the Moonswatch, the Limited Edition Shotgun 650 is a surefire attention grabber, surprisingly affordable and … part of a very small production run.

One of a kind (almost)

The bad news and good news is one and the same, in that only 100 people worldwide, and just 25 in the Americas, will be able to score one of these bikes.

But if you do, you will yourself have a motorcycle that’s pretty damn unique — and enough ducats left in your bank account for plenty of high-octane fuel.

Thanks to Portland, Oregon-based ICON, a dynamic moto apparel and protective gear brand that also builds custom motorcycles blending retro styling and modern tech, this new treatment brings a bold and fresh aesthetic to the proceedings.

The new motorcycle has much in common with the already cool standard Shotgun 650.

Notable features include a 648cc parallel twin engine boasting a powerful mid-range and abundant torque across the gears, ample suspension, responsive disc brakes, an approachable 31.3-inch bucket seat, tubeless alloy wheels, stylish bar-end mirrors and a bright LED headlamp.

But thanks to Portland, Oregon-based ICON, a dynamic moto apparel and protective gear brand that also builds custom motorcycles blending retro styling and modern tech, this new treatment brings a bold and fresh aesthetic to the proceedings.

Highlights include a 3-tone colorway of race-inspired graphics, and a number of special parts color-matched to the build. The wheels feature gold contrast cut rims, the shock springs are a bright blue and the seat is a striking red.

The pintriped tank features Icon One Thousand branding, while the matching rear fender is Icon-branded as well.

The sidecover features the number 24 (presumably to honor the debut year of the build), with a checkered flag graphic rounding out the generally race-inspired vibe.

Complementing that energy, each motorcycle comes complete with a Slabtown Intercept RE jacket from the collaboration, designed by ICON.

Made of suede and textile and featuring leather appliques and embroidery, it is just as exclusive as the bike itself.

It’s worth noting that this Shotgun’s chassis, engine, handlebars, exhaust pipes and other accessories are rendered in an unassuming flat black, the better to not distract from the multi-chromatic accents. Because believe me, this thing is colorful.

It’s the kind of bike that cries out for attention, so if there’s two cents I can share before you sign up and get in line next Wednesday morning, it’s this: You sure as hell better be able to ride.

Availability and pricing

Royal Enfield will offer only 100 units globally, with just 25 available in the Americas, at a price of $7,699. Customers in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico can pre-register to purchase using this link.
