How We Tested (and What We Learned)
We conducted a few burn tests of some common rolling paper materials, bleached paper, unbleached paper, rice paper and hemp. And we took into account their ease of use (meaning how well they rolled), as well as how fast they burned, how much ash they left behind, what the quality of that ash was and more. We discovered that bleached standard-thickness rolling paper left the most ash behind and rice paper left the least. Hemp paper left the clearest-looking ash and bleached paper left the dirtiest. One notable difference we saw was also with the adhesive used — sugar gum burned quickly with the speed of the paper, while Arabic gum burned more slowly.
