This Made-in-America Pizza Oven Is Coming for Your Solo Stove Pi

The Live-Fire Pizza Oven attachment integrates directly with Breeo’s X-Series Fire Pits — and boasts plenty of versatility.

·

Pizza ovens are having a moment. From high-end Gozney to accessible Solo Stove, it seems like making pizza outside has never been hotter. Today, Breeo joins the fray with its latest release: the Live-Fire Pizza Oven. Here’s what we know.

Like Breeo’s entire catalog, the Live-Fire Pizza Oven is made in the US, but unlike the rest of its catalog, the new pizza oven features technology we haven’t seen yet from the brand. It was made to integrate with the brand’s X-Series fire pits, and it harnesses the power of wood fire to make what Breeo calls “restaurant quality pizza.” The Live-Fire Pizza Oven is available in a Corten or stainless steel finish, and it comes fully assembled: all you need to do is add pizza stones, some dough, a little sauce and plenty of cheese. Most exciting of all, the oven features a heat bypass chimney allows you to control the air temp, which you can monitor from the built-in thermometer.

The Live-Fire Pizza Oven: The Specs

As mentioned above, the Live-Fire Pizza Oven comes fully assembled; all you need is your X-Series fire pit. The pizza oven is 19 inches high x 27.5 inches wide, and with both pizza stones, weighs in at 76 pounds. (We’d recommend getting the oven set up on the fire pit, then adding the stones — for your back’s sake.)

The Live-Fire Pizza Oven sits directly on top of the X-Series line of fire pits by Breeo.

Breeo’s pizza oven comes with an integrated custom thermometer that measures the temps inside the oven, providing you with real-time data that helps make the best ‘za. The fire heats the pizza stones from underneath, but it also deflects heat around and through the chamber, cooking the top and bottom of the pizza evenly.

The Live-Fire Pizza Oven isn’t the only launch of the day: Breeo is also debuting a whole suite of pizza-inspired tools, including a Pizza Rocker ($50), Serving Board ($50), Pizza Peel ($50), Pizza Oven Cover ($80), Pizza Oven Base ($90) and an X30 Adapter ring ($150) that allows the Breeo X30 Fire Pit to turn into a professional pizza-making machine. (You can purchase the entire suite of accessories, and the pizza oven, as a bundle for $1,098.)

What makes the Breeo pizza oven different?

The first and most noticeable difference between Breeo and its competitors is Breeo’s continued use of Corten steel, which patinas over time for a distinct and rustic look. The patina is an aesthetic differentiator, but there’s more. The fire pits, Live-Fire Pizza Oven and a host of the brand’s new accessories are made in the U.S., supporting domestic manufacturing and cutting down emissions associated with international shipping. (The Pizza Peel, Pizza Oven Cover and Pizza Rocker are all made in China.)

The pizza stones that come with the Breeo’s pizza oven are also different: they’re 7/8ths of an inch thick, thicker than any other portable pizza stone on the market. Thicker stones mean faster cooking times, which means the extra weight means pizza in your hand faster than competitors. The handles on the side of the oven allow it to be removed when you’re done making pizza (removal should be done by two people) so you can eat your freshly-made slices right by a roaring fire.

The Breeo Live-Fire Pizza Oven and its accompanying accessories are available starting today.
