Dims., the online furniture brand behind one of our favorite bar carts, just launched its first seating option. Designed by Norwegian designer Stine Aas, the Dims. Cleo chair is a sturdy piece of furniture that draws inspiration from nature, Scandi culture and geometric patterns.
“Every designer we’ve worked with so far has been hand-picked by out of hundreds or even thousands of possible options,” Eugene Kim, Dims.’ founder once told Gear Patrol. “Who we work with is our special sauce.”
The Cleo is stackable up to three chairs and is made from firm FSC-certified wood. The actual seat is made of a softer, laminated shell for comfort, and the backrest is formed into a semicircle, designed to evoke the memory of archways in classical architecture. The chairs are made from chemical-free paint and require no assembly.
The first batch of 100 Cleo chairs — which come in natural, fjord blue and tobiko red — are available now for $350, with a projected ship date of February 1; the next batch of chairs will arrive in May. Dims. offers free shipping, a 60-day return window and a 10-year warranty.
