PicoBrew makes some of the most hands-off homebrewing machines money can buy — you essentially put in a pack of ingredients, fill it with the proper amount of water and press, Go. Yet one significant restriction with these automated countertop appliances has been the sole dependence on compostable pre-packaged grains, malts and yeast. In other words, a user could not visit their local homebrew shop, grab the ingredients they wanted and individually use them in their PicoBrew machine to homebrew.
Thanks to PicoBrew’s new UnkPak’d Kit, users can now brew beers using their own ingredients in the PicoBrew C, S and Pro machines. They’ll also have access to the online PicoBrew RecipeCrafter tool to create their own beer recipes.
The UnPak’d Kit contains reusable grain, hop and coffee bags (for making cold brew) made from natural cotton or nylon. New machines now include functionality to enable users to use their own grains, hops and other ingredients to brew fresh craft beer while already-owned devices will automatically receive updates for the “Brew In Bag” setting the next time they connect to Wi-Fi.
