Italian housewares company Alessi recently unveiled a new take on what the Guiness Book of World Records calls the world’s most popular coffee maker — the moka pot, invented in the 1930s and sold under the name Bialetti.
Designed by British architect David Chipperfield, the updated version brings some subtle design tweaks to the original design. These include a flat top that lets users preheat cups before serving and an ergonomic lid design that can be opened with one hand. It comes in varying sizes — one-, three- and six-cup capacities — and starts at a cool $35. Available at the end of this month.
